Your Morning Dump… Where Rondo’s teacher is impressed

Rondo jumper 2

Every
morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here…
highlighting the big storyline.  Because there's nothing quite as
satisfying as a good morning dump.

“I just like the fact that he’s sticking with some things,” he
added. “I think a lot of times guys, when they struggle a little bit
out there, they just kind of say, ‘Well, I’m going to go back to what I
was doing before or whatever.’ But I think in the long run it’s going
to pay off for him. I can see he’s been doing a lot better from the
line lately.”

When asked how far off Rondo was when he first came to see him last summer (they got together three times), Price paused.

“He had a lot of work to do,” he said. “But he’s a hard worker, and
he’s a great player. It’s just one piece that’s not there yet, and if
he gets that going a little bit, look out.

Herald: Price fixing on Rajon Rondo's shot

In November, Rajon Rondo shot 38.5% from the line.

In December, he shot 65%.

So far in January, he's only gone to the line 5 times, but he's hit 4 of those… so he's shooting 80% early on.

In my opinion, the free throw line is really where you see how a player's form is working out.  You can see the progression there.  It's all starting to come together.

Coming up, Page 2… where the C's are in the middle of hell week

"It's tough even if we had been healthy," Rivers said this week. "We
looked at this stretch of games, and all this traveling, and were
concerned when I looked at the schedule when it came out. That's when I
thought we'd have all our players with us.

"Obviously, nobody predicted this was going to happen. We've just
got to wade our way through it, somehow. We've got to keep ourselves
above water, somehow."

Scott Souza: Celtics in the midst of a tough stretch

The C's just played Atlanta on Friday…. and now they're in Toronto today at 1 before hopping a plane to come home for a back-to-back against Atlanta tomorrow.  Then, they fly to New Jersey for a game Wednesday only to hop a plane back to Boston for another back-to-back against the Bulls Thursday.  5 games in 7 days.  3 of those games are on the road and both of the home games are the day after a road game.

Factor in the injuries and illnesses… and this, my friends, has the potential to be an ugly week.
