Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

I’m not promising a championship.  I know how hard that is to deliver.  We’re not ready right now.  No way.  Of course, I want to win next year, but I’m realistic.  I’m only a broadcaster – what could I really do?  It will be a long process, much longer than in 2008.  My patience will get tested.  I know that.  I’m going into a situation with a young team and a young coach.  I will be the young Comcast SportsNet announcer in the booth next to the legendary Mike Gorman and learn from the greatest color analyst in the game Mr. Tommy Heinsohn. I know that I have a lot to learn but I see myself as a Champion, and I think I can help break down some great Marcus Smart dunks this season.  I think I can elevate Kelly Olynyk’s game by the amount of research I make my interns do before announcing road games.  And I can’t wait to reunite with Rajon Rondo, one of my favorite teammates.  Paul, KG, and Ray may have all left, but Rondo and the White Mamba remain in Boston, at least for now.

CSNNE Exclusive: “I’m Coming Home”-Brian Scalabrine

Good Lord this is fantastic. When I first saw it on my iPhone while riding public transportation home from work last night, I thought it was just a fan made spoof. But when I got home and read the entire piece, it made my night. Poking fun at Lebron’s “coming home” story, Scalabrine announces to CelticNation that he too is coming back to the city he loves-Boston, Ma.

Brian Scalabrine, dubbed by some as the “Human Victory Cigar“, was a the fan favorite during his tenure in Boston. Sure sometimes the “SCAL-A-BRINE” chants seemed to mock him, but he didn’t care. He ran with it, soaked it in and never looked back. From his memorable presser after the C’s clinched Banner 17 to Toucher & Rich’s “The Scallenge“, Brian Scalabrine oozes that regular guy swag that makes him both relatable & likeable. It’s going to be great to have the White Mamba back around Boston and more importantly doing Celtics games on CSNNE.

It’s pretty clear they are grooming Scal to become Tommy’s successor. Heinsohn was replaced last year for most road games by guys like PJ Carlisemo & Chris Herren. They were ok, but neither bring to the table what Brian Scalabrine does. He is completely in tune with the Celtics & their fans and knows the game of basketball inside & out. He’s the perfect analyst-a guy who fans love and has the NBA knowledge needed to keep a steady flow of solid commentary coming. If there is one person I wouldn’t mind seeing replace Tommy, it’s definitely Scalabrine. According to the Globe, Scal will be doing color commentary on all of the Celtics’ 2014-15 road games while Tommy will cotinue handling the home contests.

On Page 2, Marcus Smart’s scavenger hunt

ESPN’s SportsNation sent Celtics rookie Marcus Smart on a “scavenger hunt” during Sunday’s rookie photo shoot. Smart was tasked with amongst other things, pantsing a fellow rookie. Believe it or not, this is actually somewhat entertaining:

Last but not least, Kelly takes a hard foul-from an inanimate object

RusBasket has this clip of Kelly Olynyk getting tangled up with a sign during Team Canada’s game with Serbia on Monday. Both awkward & hilarious.
