Your Morning Dump… Where some kids broke into Ray Allen’s house

ray and wife

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

Police said Allen’s wife Shannon Walker Allen was asleep in her bedroom with her children when heard noises and saw the light’s from what is believed to be the suspects’ flashlights.

Police said Mrs. Allen shouted out “What the (expletive) are you doing in my house?” Immediately she heard one of the women say “Oh my God.”  Police said the group of young adults believed to be in their early 20s then ran out of the house laughing.

According to detectives, the suspects believed the home was empty and wanted to see what Ray Allen’s home looked like after they left a house party next door around 2:30 a.m. Detectives said the suspects broke into the home through a door that had a faulty lock. They found the group at another home shortly after.

First, I’m glad his family is OK and this was just a bunch of drunk kids trying to get a thrill by checking out what they thought was an abandoned mansion.

Now….

Ray Allen has made hundreds of millions of dollars in his life.  He’s not the superstar he used to be, but he’s still pretty recognizable, especially in Miami where he’s hit a few big shots over the past few years.

You’d think he would rely on more than a deadbolt to keep his family safe.

No security system?  No dogs roaming the house ready to pounce on an unsuspecting intruder?  Nothing?

“Oh, yeah, Shannon… remember, the side door can’t lock and we’re in Miami, a town synonymous with cocaine and drug dealers.  If anyone happens to come in, just swear at them and that should work!”

Ray Allen’s defense is once again non-existent.

Page 2:  Mike Gorman answers fans’ questions

Question from Adam Mayfield: Hey Mike, obviously the roster could change more before season’s start, but as of now, who is your favorite new addidtion? #CelticsTalk
Mike Gorman: I’m intrigued with Marcus Smart…. you don’t find many players in the NBA who want to defend above all else….Marcus can be a game changer on that end of the floor and I think he will fast become a fan favorite in Boston…He and Avery Bradley are going to give opposing guards fits.

Question from Costa: How many wins do you think Boston Celtics will get this season?
MG: 30-35

Question from Alex: Talking about Rondo, do you think Rajon will still be a Celtic after the trade deadline?
MG: I think that will depend upon the first 3 and 1/2 months of the season….I’m a Rondo guy so I hope the answer to your question is yes.
