Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
The Rolling Stones, “Goodfellas,” a Hershey’s with almonds — the classics are classic for a reason. That definitely applies to the Celtics’ set. No goofy side panels, no extraneous bells or whistles — just a perfect, vertically arched wordmark and a simple green-and-white color scheme. They rank atop this list despite sometimes wearing that black-trimmed alternate.
Being a traditionalist, I was disgusted when the Celtics debuted (2005) the alternate black-trimmed jerseys. But they’ve grown on me, so much so that I would like to see more of the slick black unis.
I like the gold-trimmed St. Patrick’s Day jerseys, too. Although, I’m pretty sure I can only deal with those in small doses. They also have the jerseys with the vintage lettering.
The Spurs, Lakers, Warriors and Jazz round out ESPN’s top 5. The Kings and Nets were voted the worst.
The Celtics jersey ranked 10th best in all of sports, with the Montreal Canadians voted number one.
