Those fans planning road trips to see the 2011-12 Celtics in either Providence, RI, or Albany, NY, next month can cross the dates off their calendars. 

The NBA’s announcement Friday that cancelled 43 exhibition games included the Celtics’ preseason opener in Providence against the Philadelphia 76ers at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center on Oct. 10, as well as a matchup with the Knicks at the Times Union Center on Oct. 15.

Sorry, Rhode Island.  Your one chance to get to see any semblance of NBA ball in your back yard is gone.  If you'd like to submit a complaint to someone besides the Celtics, you may want to direct your ire towards one of the dozen NBA owners on the Forbes 400 list

Yes, that's nearly half the NBA's owners, owners who are causing this lockout, among the richest people in this country.  Keep that in mind.
