Your Morning Dump… Where you have yourselves a merry little Christmas

Every
morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here…
highlighting the big storyline.  Because there’s nothing quite as
satisfying as a good morning dump

“[I] forever watched the NBA on Christmas Day and we were all at home,
watching, eating, watching the games,” said Ray Allen. “So it seems
like it’s just our turn now. Guys are grown up and we’ve put ourselves
in the situation [where] we’re on a good team. We’re good enough to
have the ability to play on Christmas time.”

{…}

“Now that I think about it, it is kind of cool,” [Shelden Williams] said. “I mean,
playing on an early game on Christmas when people are actually tuning
in and watching us play, I think it’s going to be a great time.”

Jess Camerato: The meaning of a Green Christmas

He hope the boys at The Basketball Jones have put you into an NBA Christmas mood.

Our boys are on the national stage today… and wherever you’re watching them play, please be safe and have a great Christmas.  We hope you’re fortunate enough to be spending it with family and friends.

Coming up: Page 2, where Paul Pierce might join the team on this road trip

“I think it may be shorter now that we’re getting more information about it, than the two weeks, but we just don’t know,” coach Doc Rivers
said yesterday. “There’s a chance he may join us on this trip. I told
them personally that he would have to be 100 percent for me to allow
him to come on this trip.”

Pierce called Lacerte, who got in his car and was at Pierce’s home by roughly 1:30 a.m.
“With Paul, because he never calls Eddie, that’s basically what
alerted Eddie that he should go to Paul’s house and see what’s going
on,” Rivers said. “Honestly, with probably half the other guys, Eddie
would have gone back to sleep. But Paul literally never complains. He
never misses a practice and it was just unusual for him to complain
about pain.”

Herald:  Pierce on quicker mend

Thankfully, they caught this thing early.  I’m still curious what led to this whole thing.  How the hell does one just wake up with a knee infection?  Weird.

And what are the other guys on the team doing…. calling him in the middle of the night with aches and pains?
