Now we have some reviews of TBS’ debut in the MLB League Division Series yesterday. Ray Frager of the Baltimore Sun says Cal Ripken did well in the TBS studio, but Frank Thomas is something else. Christine Daniels of the Los Angeles Times says Thomas was not good, but Ripken was solid. In the Chicago Tribune, Ed Sherman says TBS did a competent job, not splashy and Frank Thomas was very soft spoken.

The Rocky Mountain News says Comcast added TBS HD in time for the Rockies playoff game. The Denver Post says TBS HD launched on Comcast in the Mile High City on Tuesday night. RCN says it’s picked up TBS HD in all of its markets. And Time Warner Cable has added TBS HD in LA.

The Big Ten Network will air 55 women’s basketball games. Bob Baptist of the Columbus Dispatch says it’s unlikely the Big Ten Network will pick up Ohio State-Michigan.

Tim Cronin of the Chicago Daily Southtown says even though Chicago Blackhawks owner Bill Wirtz has passed away, don’t expect games at the United Center to be televised locally. Wirtz would only allow 39 games to be televised per year, most of them road games.
From the Raleigh News & Observer says the Carolina Hurricanes will have 55 games on FSN South and 5 on Versus.
