In case you missed it, Zack Von Rosenberg made his debut with Single-A West Virginia last night against the Asheville Tourists. He struck out nine, walked one, and gave up four hits (one a solo homer, his only run allowed) in five innings. It’s possible Asheville is a very strikeout prone team (Brooks Pounders followed Von Rosenberg up with four strikeouts in two innings), but given that ZVR’s low strikeout rate in State College last year raised some eyebrows (5.9 K/9), it’s a really solid way for him to start his first year in full-season ball.
