More bad news for Zayd Issah .
Former Penn State linebacker commit and three star prospect Zayd Issah that already has had a brush with the law for trying to pass off fake $20 bills has been charged with a felony.
Issah originally fought with staff members of a State College apartment rental company. Once police arrived, an officer identified herself and grabbed Issah’s wrist. Issah resisted the arrest and began to run. After a foot pursuit, officers grabbed Issah and identified themselves before he continued his attempt to flee. According to criminal complaint, it took four officers to take the 6-foot-4, 200-pound athlete to be taken into custody. All according to police and court records that were released Monday.
Two of the four officers that it took to Issah into custody sustained injures while trying to apprehend the former commit. One officer sustained a right wrist injury and the other sustained minor scrapes on his left arm according to reports.
Police also discovered a small amount of marijuana on Issah.
Issah has been charged with aggravated assault, three counts of resisting arrest and possession of a small amount of marijuana. His bail has been set at $20,000.
When asked about Issah’s future with the team, Bill O’Brien responded ” If this is true, he certainly won’t be part of the team”
Issah’s first brush with the law occurred back March at a McDonald’s located in Harrisburg, Pa when he tried to pass of $20 bills that were counterfeit. He recently accepted to go into ACD (Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition) program, which is open to first-time offenders and could wipe criminal charges from one’s record.
Issah was planning in enrolling at PSU this upcoming January after spending a semester at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia.
