Oehser gives us plenty of quotes

Sanders, a Pro Bowl selection in 2005 and 2007, said he doesn’t yet know how much he would play if he is available against the Rams.

“We haven’t even made that decision,” he said. “We’re looking forward to that if it happens. If it doesn’t, we’ll wait and see.”

Sanders said while he very much wants to play, a measured approach is still the correct one.

“We have to be a little smart about the decisions we make right now,” Sanders said. “When it’s time, I’ll be ready.”

Should he play, Sanders said the first objective is “just getting my feet underneath me.”

“I haven’t been out there in a long time,” Sanders said. “I’m used to running around and making a lot of plays. I just have to make sure I’m where I need to be, getting my fits, geting my reads — communication — everything. It takes a lot to be back there and play safety. I have to make sure I’m ready.”

Also on Wednesday, CB Marlin Jackson said he expects to miss at least two more games with a knee injury that kept him out the final game before the bye. Jackson also said the knee that has kept him out is a strained ACL in his left knee — and not an injury to his right knee. He missed the last half of last season with a torn right ACL.
