Despite missing part of the 2022 NFL preseason due to a ruptured appendix, Joe Burrow will be starting against Pittsburgh in Week 1.
The former first overall pick will look to repeat his 2021 season and take the Bengals to the Super Bowl once again. While it may take some time for the Bengals’ star quarterback to fully recover, the first four weeks will be Cincinnati’s easiest stretch of the year.
The Bengals won’t really be challenged until Week 5 when they take on another division rival, the Baltimore Ravens. Cincinnati will also see Cleveland twice but only one of those games will feature DeShaun Watson at quarterback.

2022 Cincinnati Bengals Preseason Schedule
The Bengals opened the 2022 NFL preseason with a loss against the Arizona Cardinals. While Joe Burrow was listed as questionable, head coach Zach Taylor got his backups involved for a few reps.
Jake Browning, the second-string quarterback, completed 13-of-24 passes for 190 yards. While Drew Pitt went 6-for-6 for 76 yards and one touchdown. Brandon Allen even got to touch the ball completing all three of his passes for 29 yards.
After losing on the road against the Giants, Cincinnati finished off the preseason with a 16-7 win versus the Los Angeles Rams.
All in all, the Bengals finished the exhibition schedule with a 1-2 overall record.
