Los Angeles Chargers Futures Odds
Los Angeles finished third in the AFC West with a 9-8 record last season. The Chargers went 3-3 against division opponents but will likely need to do better than that to usurp the Kansas City Chiefs in the standings in 2022.
The Chargers have one of the best offenses in the league.
Considered one of the favorites for NFL MVP, quarterback Justin Herbert is surrounded by talented playmakers at every position. With running back Austin Ekeler, wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, and a good offensive line, Herbert and the Chargers offense will be difficult to stop. Los Angeles also brought in pass rusher Khalil Mack and corner J.C. Jackson to bolster their defense, which was the team’s weakest link last year.
Entering Week 1, the top online sportsbooks are projecting the Los Angeles Chargers for 10.5 wins in 2022. The over is set at -115 and the under is set at -115 odds, which would be an improvement of 1-2 wins compared to the Chargers’ performance from a season ago.
According to the best NFL betting sites, Los Angeles has the second-best chance to win the AFC West at +215 odds, behind only the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chargers also have the fourth best odds to win the Super Bowl at +1100.

The Chargers Super Bowl odds have been moving, thanks in large part to Justin Herbert, who is expected to enter the NFL MVP race in Year 3.
At BetOnline, the Chargers now own +1100 odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy, tied for the fourth best mark of any NFL team.

Los Angeles Chargers Division Odds
The LA Chargers were third in the division with a 9-8 record. The Chargers also went 3-3 against division opponents last season.
Kansas City won the division with a 12-5 record and finished 5-1 against division opponents in 2021. The Las Vegas Raiders were second in the division with a 10-7 record last season. Meanwhile, Denver finished last in the division last season with a 7-10 record.
Kansas City is a slight favorite to once again win the division at +180 odds.
LA is a close second with +225 odds to win the division.
Then, Denver comes in at +265 odds to win the AFC West.
At a somewhat distant fourth place are the Raiders, who come into Week 1 with +500 odds to win the division.

Los Angeles Chargers Team Wins
Last season, the Los Angeles Chargers had a 9-8 record and finished third in the division. The Chargers just missed the playoffs by losing to the Raiders on a last-second, game-winning field goal in overtime in Week 18.
To get over the hump in 2022, LA brought in Khalil Mack and J.C. Jackson to help bolster their defense.
With Herbert gearing up for the best season of his young career, the Chargers are projected for 10.5 wins at the top offshore sportsbooks.

Los Angeles Chargers Prediction
Los Angeles narrowly missed out on a postseason berth and likely should have finished with double digit wins had in not been for a Week 18 meltdown against the Raiders.
Fast forward to 2022 and the AFC West is suddenly the best division in football with four potential playoff teams.
But in order to become legitimate Super Bowl contenders, the Chargers will need their defense to step up this season.
The Chargers have an easier schedule to start the season.
The first game of the year is a home battle against the Raiders, which should be a winnable matchup.
Another division matchup is on tap in Week 2, as the Chargers head on the road to take on the Chiefs.
In Week 3, the Chargers will host Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars before traveling to Houston for a road game versus the Texans in Week 4.
Then in Week 5, the Chargers will remains on the road as they battle the Browns in Cleveland without Deshaun Watson.
The Chargers should start 4-1 and will host Denver and Seattle in back to back home games in Week 5 and 6.
That gives Los Angeles a good chance of entering into its Week 8 bye with at least a 5-2 record.
Following Los Angeles’ Week 8 bye are two road matchups versus Atlanta and San Francisco.
Weeks 10-18 present the biggest challenge for the Chargers. Despite having a difficult schedule in the final half of the season, the Chargers should still win four games, at least, down the stretch.
Here is a list of possible wins for the Chargers in 2022:
- Week 1 vs Las Vegas Raiders
- Week 3 vs Jacksonville Jaguars
- Week 4 @ Houston Texans
- Week 5 @ Cleveland Browns
- Week 7 vs Seattle Seahawks
- Week 9 @ Atlanta Falcons
- Week 13 @ Las Vegas Raiders
- Week 14 vs Miami Dolphins
- Week 15 vs Tennessee Titans
- Week 16 @ Indianapolis Colts
The Chargers have 10 winnable games on the schedule, which is right at their projected win total. But with Justin Herbert, a talented offense, and an improved defense, look for Los Angeles to win a few more difficult games on the road this year.
Take the Chargers to finish with over 10.5 wins in 2022.

Los Angeles Chargers Roster
The Chargers failed to stop the run a season ago and struggled to get off of the field as a result. In a division that features Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, and Derek Carr at quarterback, Los Angeles will need its defense to step up in 2022.
Los Angeles made two key defensive moves in the offseason, acquiring J.C. Jackson and Khalil Mack to bolster a defense that failed to meet expectations and took a major step back last year.
While the defense will need to improve, most of the excitement surrounding the Chargers comes from their offense, which is expected to be one of the best in the league.
Justin Herbert has become a star after just two seasons and he should be in for another strong campaign behind an excellent offensive line. Austin Ekeler is a great dual running back and Mike Williams and Keenan Allen form one of the best wide receiver duos in the league.
Check back after the preseason for a complete Chargers’ 53-man roster.
