Miami Dolphins Futures Odds

Miami had a record of 9-8 last year but they did not make the playoffs.

Tua Tagovailoa is looking to improve in Year 3 and Miami has set him up for success by adding several weapons on offense. In 2022, Tagovailoa will have the benefit of throwing to Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill, one of the best WR duos in the AFC.

The top online sportsbooks are projecting the Miami Dolphins for 8.5 wins in 2022. The over 8.5 wins is favored at -170 odds while under 8.5 wins is set at +140.

This means that the addition of Tyreek Hill has not increased the Dolphins’ projected win total by a wide margin.

According to the best NFL betting sites, Miami has the second best chance to win the AFC East at +425 odds. Miami is viewed as a middle of the road team, with a +4000 odds to win the Super Bowl.

Miami Dolphins Prediction

Miami was an underrated 9-8 team last year. The Dolphins had to deal with a lot distractions, including scandals between the owner and head coach Brian Flores.

In the offseason, Miami acquired star WR Tyreek Hill to help boost Tagovailoa’s play in Year 3 but will it be enough to get the Dolphins back to the playoffs?

Miami has a tough schedule in its first five games, with three of those contests being played against division opponents.

The Dolphins kick the season off at home vs the Patriots before traveling to Baltimore in Week 2 for a matchup versus the Ravens. Another division opponent is on tap for Week 3, as Miami will play at home vs the Buffalo Bills. In weeks 4 and 5, they will be on the road to face the Cincinnati Bengals in week 4 and New York Jets in week 5.

Weeks 6-10 brings a much easier schedule for the Dolphins, who will play Minnesota, Detroit, Chicago, and Cleveland (without Deshaun Watson) during that span.

Following the easy stretch, Miami will get some time to rest with a bye week in Week 11.

That should give the Dolphins some extra time to prepare for what could shape up to be a very difficult schedule to close the season.

Miami will start Week 12 with a cupcake matchup at home vs the Houston Texans.

However after that, the dolphins will be on the road in weeks 13-15 against three potential playoff teams.

Miami faces the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13, Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14, and the Buffalo Bills in Week 15.

The road to the playoffs won’t get any easier after that either. Miami gets a home matchup vs the Green Bay Packers in Week 16 before traveling on the road against the New England Patriots for a divisional matchup that could be loaded with playoff implications.

Then, the Dolphins end the season with an easy game at home vs the New York Jets.

Here is a list of possible wins for the Dolphins in 2022:

  • Week 1 vs the New England Patriots
  • Week 5 @ the New York Jets
  • Week 6 vs Minnesota Vikings
  • Week 7 vs Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Week 8 @ Detroit Lions
  • Week 9 @ Chicago Bears
  • Week 10 vs Cleveland Browns
  • Week 12 vs Houston Texans
  • Week 18 vs New York Jets

The 8.5 win total is perfectly set for the Dolphins. They have nine winnable games, which is the same amount of wins as Miami had last year.

Tua will take a leap forward this year, which could give them a chance to steal a game or two against potential playoff teams.

Take the over 8.5 wins for Miami in 2022.

Miami Dolphins Next Game Pick

The Bears came back down to earth last week following their big win over the New England Patriots.

Meanwhile, Miami has won back-to-back games since quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returned under center. The Dolphins’ offense got back on track last week with a 31-point performance on the road in Detroit against the Lions.

Justin Fields has made some strides under center in recent weeks but not enough to keep Chicago competitive against one of the NFL’s most high-powered offenses.

Look for a big game from Miami’s running backs in this one as Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle help open up the field for the Dolphins’ run game.

Take the Dolphins to cover the -4 point spread on Sunday afternoon.

2022 Miami Dolphins Preseason Schedule

Tyreek Hill was a huge acquisition but he should not be expected to see action in the preseason.

The Dolphins will want their offensive line to gel and could use the preseason to get them working together before the season starts.

Update: Miami was hoping to see a big step forward for Tagovailoa and used preseason to get him some game reps. The Dolphins starter finished the third preseason game with a team-high 121 yards passing in a 48-10 route versus the Philadelphia Eagles. The third-year quarterback hit Hill on a 55-yard pass on the first play from scrimmage, showing a strong connection with his new No. 1 wide receiver.

2022 Miami Dolphins Regular Season Schedule

Miami kicks off their season with a difficult schedule but things will get easier for the Dolphins in Weeks 6-10.

Weeks 6 and 7 bring home matchups vs the Minnesota Vikings  and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After that, the Dolphins will head on the road for the next two weeks but get two winnable games against opponents from the NFC North. In Week 8, they will play the Lions in Detroit, and in Week 9, they get the lowly Bears in Chicago.

Miami will then return home to host the Cleveland Browns without Deshaun Watson in Week 10.

Then the Dolphins will get a perfectly placed bye week in Week 11, allowing them to prepare for the most challenging portion of their schedule.

The Dolphins will be on the road in Weeks 13-15.

Miami faces the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13, Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14, and the Buffalo Bills in Week 15.

Then, the Dolphins get a home matchup vs the Green Bay Packers in Week 16 and road battle against the New England Patriots, which could determine the fate of their season.

Here are some of the key games on Miami’s schedule below.
