For the last few years, the NFC South has been one of the weaker divisions in the NFL.
While the NFC South used to be dominated by the Brees, Payton, and the Saints, that ship has sailed.
Since Tom Brady left New England to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, the Bucs have won consecutive division titles.

New Orleans Saints Team Wins
After letting go of longtime head coach Sean Payton, the Saints will officially begin a new era in New Orleans under first-time head coach Dennis Allen.
Allen had been serving on Payton’s staff as a defensive coordinator since 2015, Allen becoming the 17th head coach in New Orleans Saints history.
Franchise quarterback Drew Brees also retired, giving the Saints a new look under center for the first time since 2006.
Former No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston will take over at quarterback after starting seven games last season. He threw 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions during that span, showing flashes of why New Orleans selected him as Brees’ successor.
Despite playing in the NFC South, the best NFL betting sites have the Saints projected at 8.5 wins.
With Alvin Kamara potentially sitting out for potentially 10 games, the Saints will be missing one of the biggest offensive threats in the league, which could hurt their ability to move the ball early in the season.

New Orleans Saints Prediction
With one of the easier schedules in the NFL, the Saints are only projected for 8.5 wins this season, which may be a little high.
The Saints kick off the season on the road at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium against the Atlanta Falcons, which should be an easy win with Matt Ryan now in Indianapolis.
Other than Tampa Bay, four of the first five games on the Saints’ schedule are against non-contending teams including Seattle, Carolina and Minnesota.
With Kamara out for the early part of the season, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Saints start off the season with a 3-2 record.
From there, however, the Saints will have a tough eight week stretch when they see Cincinnati, Arizona, Las Vegas, Baltimore, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Tampa Bay. In Week 6 to Week 13, the Saints are only facing Super Bowl contenders and potential playoff teams.
While they close the difficult stretch off with a bye week in Week 14, getting through the gauntlet unscathed will be no easy task.

New Orleans Saints Next Game Pick
The Steelers have been unable to turn their season around since inserting rookie Kenny Pickett as the team’s starting quarterback.

The Saints are starting a new era under Jameis Winston and Dennis Allen.
While the team shifts away from the Sean Payton era, the Saints still have plenty of playmakers on both sides of the ball.

While Winston didn’t start, former second-round pick Andy Dalton was able to get a few reps in with Ian Book. Book went 15-of-22 passing with 121 yards and 1 interception while Dalton went 5-of-5 for 51 yards and 1 touchdown.
