The AFC West is the best division in the NFL, as all four teams have a legitimate shot at the playoffs.
Kansas City will always be a Super Bowl contender with Patrick Mahomes under center and Andy Reid at the helm.
Justin Herbert is one of the favorites to win MVP and is one of the league’s brightest stars. He leads a Chargers team that is also expected to contend for the Lombardi Trophy.
On the other hand, Denver has been a QB away from being Super Bowl contenders for a year or two. They traded for Russell Wilson and are now legitimate contenders to win it all.
While the Raiders may be the worst team in the division, they are still a good team and one of the better teams in the AFC, especially after acquiring Davante Adams.
The AFC West will be a gauntlet.

The top online sportsbooks have Kansas City with the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +800 while the Chargers have the fourth best Super Bowl odds at +1100.
Kansas City is a slight favorite to win the AFC West at +150.
Los Angeles is a close second with a +190 odds to win the division.
Denver is third with a +375 odds to win the AFC West race .
The Las Vegas Raiders are at a distant fourth, with a +800 odds to win the division.
Below, we’ll break down the AFC West odds for each team in the division.
Kansas City Chiefs (+150)
The best NFL betting sites have the Kansas City Chiefs as small favorites to win the AFC West at +150 odds. The Chiefs have the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +800 odd.
Despite not having Tyreek Hill anymore, the Chiefs offense will not skip a beat with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid.
Kansas City’s defense will be improved this season as well.
With Reid and Mahomes, the Chiefs should still be favored to win the AFC West.
Los Angeles Chargers (+190)
The Chargers are second with a +190 odd to win the AFC West.
Los Angeles is also a top-five favorite to win the Super Bowl.
Khalil Mack boosts the Chargers’ pass rush attack. Mack and Joey Bosa form an excellent pass-rushing duo.
J.C. Jackson will miss games early in the season due to an injury.
Justin Herbert is among the favorite to win the MVP award.
The Chargers have one of the best teams in the league and can easily challenge and win the AFC West.
Denver Broncos (+375)
Denver has been a QB away from being serious contenders for the last two years.
They have very good skilled players and very good defense.
In the offseason, they addressed the QB position by trading for star QB Russell Wilson.
Denver is a lot closer to the Chiefs and Chargers than the odds make it seem.
The Broncos went 1-5 against division opponents and 3-9 against conference opponents last year. Both records will improve drastically with Wilson. Their 7-10 record last year will also improve this season.
Look for Denver to also challenge and contend for the AFC West crown.
Las Vegas Raiders (+800)
At a distant fourth to win the division is the Las Vegas Raiders.
Despite making the playoffs last season, and getting better in the offseason, they are still the fourth-best team in the division.
Davante Adams is one of the best WRs in the league, if not the best in the NFL.
Chandler Jones is also a new face and boosts their pass rush.
However, with the emergence of the Chargers and Broncos, and the Chiefs still have Mahomes and Andy Reid, the Raiders still see themselves as the worst team in the division.

Breaking Down The AFC West Race
The AFC West is the best division in the league with four teams that could make some noise in the NFL Playoffs.
Oddsmakers believe it will be a two-team race between the Chiefs and Chargers in 2022.
The Chiefs are the favorites at +140 to win the AFC West, followed by the Chargers at +175, Broncos at +375 and Raiders at +800.
While it is difficult to bet against Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, the Chargers with Justin Herbert have the talent to win the AFC West in 2022.
Check out our preview of the AFC West race below.
Kansas City Chiefs Season Preview
Losing Tyreek Hill would hurt most teams in the league but the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid.
With them, Kansas City will always be a Super Bowl threat.
To replace Hill, the Chiefs brought in Juju Smith-Schuster, Marques Valdez-Scantling, and rookie Skyy Moore.
The offensive line for the Chiefs will be one of the best. PFF ranks the Chiefs’ offensive line ninth best heading into the season.
While the Chiefs may not have as many explosive plays with Tyreek Hill gone, they will still be as efficient.
Kansas City was fourth in points per game and second in passing yards per game last year. Despite losing Hill, the Chiefs will continue to roll on offense.
The defense was very suspect in the first half of last season but they really turned it around in the second half of the season and in the playoffs.
The Chiefs will once again be a Super Bowl contender.
Los Angeles Chargers Season Preview
The Los Angeles Chargers are the most exciting team this season.
Justin Herbert is among the favorite to win the MVP award and he is only in his third year. He has been superb in his first two seasons and will be even better in year three. He makes everyone on offense instantly better.
The Chargers ranked fifth in points per game and third in passing yards per game last season.
PFF ranks the Chargers’ offensive line as 12th best heading into the season. With Rashawn Slater at left tackle, they have the upside to be a top 10 line in the league and keep Herbert upright.
The weapons at Herbert’s disposal are very good. Austin Ekeler is a very good dual back and Mike Williams and Keenan Allen form a very good WR duo.
The defense was a major issue for the Chargers last season. They ranked 29th in points allowed per game and 30th in rushing yards allowed per game.
So, the Chargers went out and acquired Khalil Mack and J.C. Jackson to bolster their defense. Sebastian Joseph-Day is a very underrated signing to help the rush defense.
With an improved defense and Herbert taking another step forward in year three, the sky is the limit for the Chargers.
Denver Broncos Season Preview
Another team expected to take a huge leap this season is the Denver Broncos.
Denver’s defense ranked second in points allowed per game, eighth in passing yards allowed per game, and 14th in rushing yards allowed per game last year.
They will once again have a very good defense this season. Denver has a very good secondary with Justin Simmons at safety and Pat Surtain II at CB. Bradley Chubb is a very good pass rusher.
The defense was not the issue in the last couple of years.
The offense, on the other hand, has been a major problem for Denver.
However, Denver is hoping they solved their offensive woes by trading for QB Russell Wilson.
Denver ranked 23rd in points per game, 19th in passing yards per game, and 12th in rushing yards per game last year.
With Wilson under center, they should score more points and be able to pass the ball more efficiently.
Denver has the defense to compete with the Chiefs and Chargers but it will all depend on how Wilson fares in this offense if they can win the AFC West.
Las Vegas Raiders Season Preview
The Las Vegas Raiders seem to be the forgotten team in the West, despite making the playoffs last season and improving in the offseason.
Vegas traded for star WR Davante Adams to give them a true number one wideout. They also added Chandler Jones to help their pass rush attack.
Vegas had the sixth-best pass game last year and with Adams, it will just get better.
The defense was suspect for the Raiders last year. They ranked 26th in points allowed per game and 20th in sacks per game. Chandler Jones should help generate pressure on QBS.
Despite adding playmakers on offense and defense, and making the playoffs last season, the Raiders still do not look like they can compete with the Chargers and Chiefs.
It will be a tough path to win the AFC West for Vegas.
