The Sports Daily NFL Expert Picks & Predictions
Our team of experts reviewed all of the current NFL odds, rosters, schedules, and offseason moves. With that, we’ve put together an expert guide to betting on the NFL this upcoming season, including our NFL predictions on who will win Super Bowl LVIII. Check out our NFL predictions, below.
Our Top NFL Pick to Win Super Bowl LVIII
The last time we had a repeat Super Bowl champion was in 2003 and 2004 when Tom Brady led the New England Patriots to back-to-back titles. This year’s reigning champion, the Kansas City Chiefs, will be looking to repeat the feat, but it will certainly be a challenge as many other teams across the league are equally as good and motivated.
Among those teams that are our favorites to win it all are the Buffalo Bills. Last year, the Bengals got the better of Josh Allen and co. in the Divisional Round en route to a Conference Championship defeat by the Chiefs. But, with much of their roster still intact and with quarterback, Josh Allen still as good as any in the league, expect to see Mike McGlinchey’s men make a fist of it over in the AFC East and go deep in the playoffs. With odds at approximately +850, Buffalo is well worth a speculative punt at any rate.
However, given Mahomes and co. have appeared in three of the last four Super Bowls, winning twice, and knowing that the two teams (Buffalo & Kansas) are on a collision course to throw down in the Conference finals once again, the big question is ‘Can the Bills finally beat the Chiefs when it matters?’
For our money, no – not quite. The smart money will be on the Chiefs, and bettors can still pick up the always exciting and highly creative Andy Reed/Patrick Mahomes-led offense for around +650 to win the Super Bowl at BetOnline.
NFL Outsider Picks to Win Super Bowl LVIII
We’ve highlighted our favorite to win the Super Bowl, now, let’s take a look at a few sleeper picks. Both the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers have tremendous value as it pertains to future odds for this upcoming NFL season. More importantly, both teams are more than capable of making a deep postseason push.
The Ravens are known for their tough-nosed defense but they also have a great quarterback in former league MVP Lamar Jackson. Jackson’s leadership and playmaking abilities give the Ravens a chance against anyone. And, with Baltimore finally adding some legit skilled wideouts to the mix in the molds of Odel Beckham Jr. and the rookie Zay Flowers, plus a host of talented defensive stalwarts returning from injury, who knows how high the Ravens might fly if (big IF) they can scamper out of a tough AFC North.
As for the 49ers, they were just one highly unfortunate game away from the Super Bowl last year and who knows what would have happened if they weren’t down to their fourth-choice QB vs. the Eagles in the NFC Conference game. This year, that hard-hitting defense is still there; Christian McCaffrey is back; QB Brock Purdy is back, and San Francisco boasts two of the game’s elite WR corps in Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. If Kyle Shanahan can keep the roster fit, the 49ers at +800-ish is a decent outsider NFL pick.
NFL Conference Picks
To reach Super Bowl LVIII teams must first conquer their respective conferences. In the AFC, it’s likely going to come down to our top pick the Kansas City Chiefs. But don’t count out teams like the Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins.
Over in the NFC, most sportsbooks are backing the Philadelphia Eagles repeating last year’s success and winning the conference. But the likes of the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, and Minnesota Vikings are all likely to be in there with a shout.
2023-24 NFL MVP Picks
One of the most coveted awards in all of sports is the NFL MVP. Typically, this award goes to quarterbacks simply because they impact the game so much. Last year, Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs won MVP and he’s one of the favorites again as we approach the start of the regular season.
However, our pick is Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert who you can get for around +1000 to win MVP at most sportsbooks. Since entering the league in 2020, Herbert has been on a tear and continues to improve. He put together the best first two seasons of any quarterback in terms of yards, passing TDs, and completions, and, though the former Oregon star did struggle at times last season behind a porous offensive line and without star receiver Keenan Allen for large parts, we expect him to return to his rookie/sophomore form in 2023/24.

What are NFL Picks?
NFL picks are very different than NFL live betting, they are essentially predictions of certain outcomes ahead of the NFL season. More specifically, sportsbooks create NFL odds for several different things ahead of each and every season. Such as who wins the Super Bowl, who wins each division, who will win NFL Coach of the Year, etc.
Our experts thoroughly review all of the NFL odds available across major online sportsbooks, and in addition, research every team to make an informed prediction, or pick, ahead of the NFL season.
Furthermore, NFL picks, or odds can also refer to individual game betting lines or outcomes within the context of one game. In this case, predictions are made regarding one game and outcomes within the game such as the outright winner, the over/under, and more.
NFL Picks Against the Spread
NFL picks against the spread refer to individual game betting lines which give you an option to select a winner based on the number of points they are favored by.
When a spread bet is listed as -7, it means the team is favored to win by 7 points or more. When a spread bet is listed as +7, it means a team is expected to lose by 7 or less. If you were to bet -7, you would need your team to win by 8 points or more to cover the spread.
Conversely, if you were to bet +7, your team needs to lose by 6 points or less or win outright to win your bet. If your bet wins (or loses for +7) by the 7-point mark, your bet is a push and your money is refunded.
Against-the-spread bets are one of the most popular bet types in NFL sports betting.
NFL Picks and Parlays
Parlay bets allow you to select multiple bets and combine them into one single sports ticket. In order to win a parlay, all of your bets that you select must win (or push). If any bet loses, your parlay bet is null and you lose your wager amount.
Because parlay bets require multiple outcomes spread across a single game, several games, or even several sports the odds increase as you add more bets.
NFL Over/Under Picks
Another way of betting on NFL games when you cannot pick a clear winner on the moneyline or spread markets is to have a look at totals instead. These are bets you can place on a number of instances occurring during a match, usually centered around the number of points a team will score, or possibly the number of touchdowns.
These markets will give you a standard middle ground number on which you can bet “over” or “under,” based on whether you think fewer or more points will be scored.
NFL Computer Picks
Though the NFL is watched by some of the biggest audiences in the US on television, there are sometimes snippets of data that players can use to place bets on markets at good odds. Even though the bookmakers usually know more than any bettor could hope for, there can be outliers.
Computer picks are therefore those that some sites put out which have been run through these modules of data. Often, these will be at bigger odds than expected, so not simply on a team to win when they are expected to.

How We Make NFL Picks and Predictions
Our expert picks and analysis of NFL odds is a thought-out process that involves heavy research. Below is a step-by-step overview on how we come up with the best NFL picks and predictions.
1. Study NFL Odds
First and foremost, we audit every major sportsbook and take inventory of their NFL odds and NFL betting lines. This includes offshore and US-based sportsbooks.
By analyzing the odds offering we hope to understand how oddsmakers value certain teams and players, which is typically done by leveraging mathematics and statistics.
2. Review Current NFL Rosters
Next, to provide NFL expert picks, we take a look at each team’s current roster and identify their strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, we review each and every draft pick, free agent signing, and recent trade to understand how the landscape of the league is changing and how each team is building toward improvement.
3. Research Injury Reports
To make accurate picks and predictions it’s important to factor in injuries. Injuries are sudden and unforeseen, and in turn, can impact a team’s potential on the field and their odds off the field.
We stay up-to-date with all the latest NFL injuries and factor them into our free NFL picks.
