Washington is expected to improve its win total with Wentz under center but the Commanders are still projected to fall short of the postseason in 2022.

The best online sportsbooks are predicting that the Commanders will win eight games in 2022, which won’t be good enough to contend with the Cowboys and Eagles in the NFC East race.

Heading into Week 1, the Commanders own +500 odds to win the NFC East, good for third in the division.

Washington also has +8000 odds to win the Super Bowl, making it one of the league’s biggest longshots to win it all.

The Commanders will enter Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season among the teams with the worst Super Bowl odds.

Despite being projected for eight wins, the Commanders have +8000 odds to win the Super Bowl, which ranks 24th in the NFL.

Washington Commanders Team Wins

According to the top online sportsbooks, acquiring Wentz should help the Commanders win more games this season.

Last season Washington was projected for 7.5 wins and finished with a 7-10 overall record.

In 2022, the best NFL betting sites have projected the Commanders for 8.0 wins in 2022.

On the other hand, the under offers a little more value at -105 odds.

Washington Commanders Prediction

Based on win total projections, the Commanders own one of the NFL’s easiest schedules in 2022.

That alone should help Wentz and Washington’s offense flash improvement in 2022.

Washington opens the regular season with winnable games against Jacksonville and Detroit, giving the Commanders a chance to get off to a strong 2-0 start.

Games against Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, and the New York Giants (twice) also represent easy opportunities for Washington to add victories.

If Washington finishes 5-2 or better in those games, which is very possible, the Commanders will be in a good position to eclipse their projected 8-win total.

While the remainder of the schedule isn’t as easy as it looks, Washington should be able to remain competitive enough to 3-7 record in those games.

If Wentz proves to be more confident under center in Washington, the Commanders could even squeak by with a .500-record in those contests and threaten to reach double-digit wins.

Take Washington to finish with over 8.0 wins (-125).

Washington Commanders Next Game Pick

The Philadelphia Eagles remain the only undefeated team in the league.

Washington has won three out of their last four games.

The Eagles have been excellent on offense and defense.

They rank second in points per game, eighth in passing yards per game, sixth in rushing yards per game, fourth in points allowed per game, and third in passing yards allowed per game.

Washington is completely overmatched in this contest.

However, Washington has been competitive and the spread is too high for a divisional matchup.

The Eagles will win this game but the Commanders will cover the spread.

Our NFL experts predict the Eagles will win this matchup at home but the Commanders will cover the spread.

2022 Washington Commanders Preseason Schedule

The Commanders finished the preseason with a 0-3 record.

Washington opened the exhibition schedule with a narrow 23-21 loss at home against the Panthers and never recovered.

The Commanders finished off the preseason by losing back-to-back road games versus Kansas City and Baltimore.

2022 Washington Commanders Regular Season Schedule

Washington enters the regular season with low expectations but the Commanders could surprise some people in 2022, thanks to a weak regular season schedule.

Thanks to early season games against the Jaguars and Lions, the Commanders have a chance to open the season with a 2-0 record.

Still, Washington will be tested early in the season.

The Commanders will play against Philadelphia and Dallas in Week 3 and 4 before taking on Green Bay in Week 7.

Washington will also face a difficult late-season stretch when they take on San Francisco, Cleveland (with Deshaun Watson), and Dallas in Weeks 16-18.
