And they&#8217;re not really positioned to win immediately, either, given their roster.<\/p>\n<p>As such, bringing in a young quarterback seems like the best move, and also the most likely decision, given that the Chargers did not make a play for Cam Newton or Andy Dalton. That would indicate that they&#8217;re going to draft a signal-caller, although they may have to trade up to do so.<\/p>\n<p>But for now, veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor is the team&#8217;s quarterback, according to head coach Anthony Lynn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now [Taylor&#8217;s] in the driver\u2019s seat but nothing is finalized,\u201d Lynn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/2020\/04\/01\/coach-lynn-chargers-qb-taylor-in-drivers-seat\/111516064\/\">said<\/a>, via Joe Reedy of the Associated Press. \u201cWhen we brought him in last year we knew he could start if we needed him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Taylor is the definition of a bridge quarterback, so while he may be the team&#8217;s starter at current time, don&#8217;t be surprise if a young, promising signal-caller is behind center in Week 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chargers have the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and they&#8217;re in a position to potentially&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":1078105,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[605037443,703638416,685856492,1],"tags":[],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v22.2 (Yoast SEO v22.2) -
