{"id":1298446,"date":"2022-09-23T09:13:20","date_gmt":"2022-09-23T13:13:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/?p=1298446"},"modified":"2022-10-14T09:01:35","modified_gmt":"2022-10-14T13:01:35","slug":"steelers-not-considering-switching-qb-following-browns-loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/news\/steelers-not-considering-switching-qb-following-browns-loss\/","title":{"rendered":"Steelers not considering switching QB following Browns loss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>It was yet another disappointing showing from the Steelers on Thursday night, as the Pittsburgh side suffered their second defeat of the season in a shocking 29-17 loss to the Cleveland Browns.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Despite losing for the second consecutive gameweek, Steelers&#8217; coach Mike Tomlin is not considering dropping star QB Mitchell Trubisky following Browns loss.<\/p>\n<div class=\"nfl-c-body-part nfl-c-body-part--text\">\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not in that mindset,&#8221; Tomlin said postgame. &#8220;I&#8217;m interested in reviewing his tape and looking at the totality of it and figuring how we collectively get better.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I thought he made some plays but we all collectively came up short, and so that&#8217;s how we measure performance &#8212; winning is our business and we didn&#8217;t handle business, so we don&#8217;t break that apart and look for the feel-good.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1298480\" src=\"https:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/0a27a1a93a7bbecbd2400ad53383e16d.jpeg\" alt=\"Trubisky\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/0a27a1a93a7bbecbd2400ad53383e16d.jpeg 640w, https:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/0a27a1a93a7bbecbd2400ad53383e16d-555x312.jpeg 555w, https:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/0a27a1a93a7bbecbd2400ad53383e16d-24x14.jpeg 24w, https:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/0a27a1a93a7bbecbd2400ad53383e16d-36x20.jpeg 36w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"nfl-c-body-part nfl-c-body-part--text\" data-min-tv-running=\"true\">\n<p>Questions arose over the QB following the Steelers loss to the Patriots in the previous gameweek, but even with Trubisky disappointing two weeks in a row, his coach still remains loyal; with Tomlin answering confidently when asked if the 28-year-old would be dropped.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So, the answer to that question is definitively no.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Calls have come from the fans for Trubisky to be replaced by rookie Kenny Pickett after two losses in the first three gameweeks, however the star QB doesn&#8217;t see the issue.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I feel like I&#8217;m in a good rhythm with my routine, I felt good tonight &#8212; just got to be better in the second half.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Mitch Trubisky speaks to the media following tonight&#39;s game: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/q4Fa4t1TEi\">pic.twitter.com\/q4Fa4t1TEi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Pittsburgh Steelers (@steelers) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/steelers\/status\/1573162506863919104?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 23, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Trubisky wasn&#8217;t terrible on paper against the Browns, as the QB finished 20 of 32 for 207 yards passing.
