If Schilling can turn in another solid start and get his ERA below 4, he will have solidified his return from injury and given us a pitcher worth turning to in October. Jason Varitek beat out Kevin Youkilis (!?) in the battle for the seventh slot in the perfect Red Sox lineup. Now we decide who bats eighth: Youkilis or Julio Lugo. I’m very surprised Varitek beat Youkilis out (by a 64 to 28 percent margin) … so surprised, in fact, that I’m putting all candidates, including Varitek, in for the battle of the eighth slot. If Varitek wins this vote, we’ll have another vote for seventh.

September 5th, 2007 GAME THREAD Toronto Blue Jays (70-68) @ Boston Red Sox (84-55) Shaun Marcum (12-5, 3.75) @ Curt…

[39750301

|
