Seemed unnecessary but what do I know. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Patriots?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Patriots<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4DWnqa76TD\">pic.twitter.com\/4DWnqa76TD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Will D. (@WAD1980) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WAD1980\/status\/787737396309655552?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 16, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Other angles show Tom Brady pumped in Bennett&#8217;s direction, but a low hit is a low hit.<\/p>\n<p>Based on a basic search of opinion, Burfict will skate by with a fine. Former head of NFL officials Mike Pereira hates the idea, as he said on the <em>Rich Eisen Show<\/em>, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cincinnati.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/bengals\/2016\/10\/17\/lewis-no-suspension-expected-burfict\/92315292\/\"><em>Cincinnati Enquirer<\/em><\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If it&#8217;s a\u00a0large fine and not games they don\u2019t have any guts. I mean, the guy was suspended for the first three games of the season. So you pile on, you pile on punishment when you look at history, and he has history dating all the way back to college for God\u2019s sakes. Obviously it doesn\u2019t apply in the NFL, but I don\u2019t see how they can do anything but suspend him because it was not a football act. He didn\u2019t lead with the helmet trying to break up a pass. He didn\u2019t do that. This was just a dead, you know, cheap, intentional cheap shot. So to me, I\u2019m like shocked if the NFL doesn\u2019t maintain some leverage here and get rid of him for another couple of games.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Pereira certainly won&#8217;t be alone in this thought process.
