{"id":550840,"date":"2016-11-10T12:00:21","date_gmt":"2016-11-10T17:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/?p=550840"},"modified":"2016-11-10T12:00:21","modified_gmt":"2016-11-10T17:00:21","slug":"broncos-can-extend-impressive-streak-against-drew-brees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/news\/broncos-can-extend-impressive-streak-against-drew-brees\/","title":{"rendered":"Broncos can extend impressive streak against Drew Brees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Denver Broncos will put an impressive streak against opposing quarterbacks on the line when facing off with Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints in Week 10.<\/p>\n<p>According to the NFL&#8217;s Media Research, the Broncos have not allowed a\u00a0passer rating over 100.0\u00a0to an opposing quarterback in 34 straight games\u2014the longest such streak by one team\u00a0in over 25 years.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">No QB has registered a 100+ passer rating against the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Broncos?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Broncos<\/a> in<br \/>34-straight games, including playoffs (longest streak in NFL since 1991)<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NFL Research (@NFLResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NFLResearch\/status\/796471899857395712?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 9, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The last quarterback to post a passer rating over 100.0 against the Broncos was Ryan Tannehill in late November of 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Brees will have a chance to snap the streak on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Through nine weeks, Brees has the NFL&#8217;s third highest passer rating at 106.7. He&#8217;s posted a passer rating over 100.0 in five of eight games, including each of the last four weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Brees understands the massive test facing the Saints.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s a tremendous challenge,&#8221; said Brees, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/blog\/new-orleans-saints\/post\/_\/id\/24265\/strength-on-strength-saints-no-1-pass-offense-vs-broncos-no-1-pass-defense\">via ESPN<\/a>. &#8220;They\u2019re defending Super Bowl champs for a reason. It\u2019s because there\u2019s really not a weak link on that defense. From their front four or really front five rushers to their linebacker corps to their secondary. It\u2019s top notch. All those guys are playmakers. They fly around, they get after you. So we\u2019re gonna need a great game of execution in all phases in order for us to be successful.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Broncos have the No. 1 passing defense in 2016. Opposing quarterbacks have thrown six touchdowns and eight interceptions, with a combined passer rating of 67.2, against Denver this season.<\/p>\n<p>But the Broncos also understand the challenge of Brees, who commands the league&#8217;s top passing offense.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve faced a lot of good quarterbacks, and this one\u2019s got to be on top of the list,&#8221; head coach Gary Kubiak said, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/blog\/denver-broncos\/post\/_\/id\/23435\/broncos-have-not-gotten-a-free-pass-against-leagues-top-quarterbacks\">via ESPN<\/a>. &#8220;He\u2019s exceptional, one of the finest players I\u2019ve ever seen, from being a quarterback guy and watching that position. This guy\u2019s been exceptional for years and years.
