The Bolts continued to play with strong emotion and earned a decisive victory as they head into their bye week.<\/p>\n<p>The Bolts got off to a less than desireable start to the game when<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/kucheni01.html\"> Nikita Kucherov<\/a> headed to the box on a hooking call at 1:24 of the first. It was pretty much all Winnipeg for the first ten minutes as they outshot the Lightning 5-3. The momentum started to shift as Tampa started getting more sustained time in their offensive zone. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/drouijo01.html\">Jonathan Drouin<\/a> showcased his ability with a monstrous shift that set up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/pointbr01.html\">Brayden Point<\/a>&#8216;s goal to open the scoring on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/helleco01.html\">Connor Hellebuyck<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Jo is a FORCE to be reckoned with. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TBLvsWPG?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#TBLvsWPG<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/10Fs9W52DD\">pic.twitter.com\/10Fs9W52DD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; x &#8211; Tampa Bay Lightning (@TBLightning) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TBLightning\/status\/830584834363912197?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 12, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Tampa didn&#8217;t let up after getting on the board. They kept going to the net and were rewarded. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/boylebr01.html\">Brian Boyle <\/a>deflected a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/hedmavi01.html\">Victor Hedman<\/a> shot and headed to the first intermission with a 2-0 lead.<\/p>\n<p>Coming off of a shutout in his last start, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bishobe01.html\">Ben Bishop<\/a> was incredibly sharp in goal once again. The Lightning&#8217;s trademark speed was on display once again. Their aggressiveness waned slightly as the strain of playing their second game in as many nights showed. Winnipeg opened up the play and gave them a lot of room to work with.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/pointbr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Brayden Point<\/a> won a battle for the puck along the boards and got the puck up to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/palaton01.html\">Ondrej Palat<\/a> who made it 3-0 off a rush at 2:11. Tampa killed off two penalties and held Winnipeg off the scoreboard. The goal gave the home team new life and they really tested Bishop in the final 20 minutes.
