{"id":652213,"date":"2017-04-08T19:36:45","date_gmt":"2017-04-08T23:36:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/?p=652213"},"modified":"2017-04-08T19:36:45","modified_gmt":"2017-04-08T23:36:45","slug":"rivers-on-double-high-screen-everyone-does-it-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/news\/rivers-on-double-high-screen-everyone-does-it-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Rivers on Double High Screen: &#8216;Everyone does it now&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Going back to the Los Angeles Clippers\u2019 first round series against the San Antonio Spurs in 2015, where the Clippers, then a three seed, defeated the Spurs (six seed) in an epic seven game series, one of the sets the Spurs had trouble containing was the Clippers\u2019 double drag screen.<\/p>\n<p>You might recognize the action, as I <a href=\"http:\/\/thesportsdaily.com\/analyzing-the-league\/pick-your-poison-with-the-clippers-double-high-screen\/\">detailed it in this piece<\/a> earlier this season.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Rivers on Double High Screen: 'Everyone does it now'\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-549066\" src=\"https:\/\/thebloguin.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/11\/screenshot-109.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"246\" height=\"289\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Two years later, it seems like many teams, including the Spurs, have sets that involve the high double screen that the Clippers and Head Coach Doc Rivers used to feature in their offense. With the Clippers in San Antonio Saturday, I asked Coach Rivers if this is something he\u2019s seen as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, everyone does it now,\u201d said Coach Rivers. \u201cIt was nice when we were just doing it. I started it in Boston to be honest, but with these two (Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan), it\u2019s dynamic because of the rolling ability of DJ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rivers detailed that there was a rule change made heading into this season involving how the double drag screen was used by the Clippers.
