The Cavaliers want to add a top-15 player of their own alongside LeBron James for what would be a fourth consecutive Finals bout with the Warriors.<\/p>\n<p>According to ESPN&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/19682394\/cleveland-cavaliers-trying-engage-chicago-bulls-multi-team-trade-scenarios-jimmy-butler\">Marc Stein<\/a>, the Cavaliers will try to weave in a third team:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It&#8217;s believed that the Cavaliers, by offering All-Star forward Kevin Love, could recruit a third team that would supply the sort of young players and\/or draft picks sure to be more appealing to Chicago than the limited trade assets on Cleveland&#8217;s roster.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Various sources followed up on Twitter with news and reaction:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Griffin was elbow deep today, as late as an hour ago, working to put together a monster deal to get Jimmy Butler from Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; David Aldridge (@davidaldridgedc) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/davidaldridgedc\/status\/876952397662257152?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 19, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sources: Chicago\u2019s price for Jimmy Butler remains elevated, but Minnesota has assets and interest. Sides made preliminary contact this week.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wojespn\/status\/876905871472807937?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 19, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Bulls don&#8217;t have much of a reason to actually gift Butler to the Cavaliers unless they want to fully blow up the roster. Such a move doesn&#8217;t make sense because the team can offer him a &#8220;super max&#8221; deal in the summer of 2018 worth $205 million, which no other team could do. Unless he&#8217;s already told them he&#8217;s leaving, Butler&#8217;s going to take the extra money.<\/p>\n<p>And if the plan is to blow up the roster and rebuild, adding Kevin Love doesn&#8217;t exactly help.<\/p>\n<p>Cleveland is smart to try, though.
