That comes despite the fact that Ho-Sang had a strong showing in training camp, as well as during his 21-game stint last season with the Islanders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one played themselves out of the lineup,\u201d Weight told reporters after the Islanders\u2019 morning skate in Columbus. \u201cWe have three in four nights here. We talked a lot about healthy competition. I think everyone has come in great shape, great attitudes. It\u2019s been a great a camp, so we knew there was going to be tough decisions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a lot of hockey coming up and some road hockey coming up. These guys will all get a chance to play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Common sense would suggest Ho-Sang will be back in the lineup sooner rather than later, but the opening night decision still comes as a surprise. But for a player who has been said to have had character issues, Ho-Sang has taken the high road since the announcement.<\/p>\n[youtube=https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DAirhrkFyIM&amp;w=560&amp;h=315]\n<p>\u201cIn the scheme of things it\u2019s one game,\u201d Ho-Sang told <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/StapeNewsday\/status\/916358369035898880\">Newsday\u2019s Arthur Staple<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s a long year. I know that when I get my chance they\u2019re not going to be able to take me out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ho-Sang has never been shy about voicing his opinion, but he\u2019s also shown a more mature approach coming into this year. He has been asked on multiple occasions about making the lineup this season and always answered that he wasn\u2019t making the assumption he would.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, he used that line earlier in the week when asked about making the team. \u201cWe have a very competitive lineup, so I think it\u2019s kind of ignorant to assume you\u2019d be in,\u201d Ho-Sang said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Taking Weight\u2019s word at face value, it would suggest that Ho-Sang wouldn\u2019t be out of the lineup for too long. The Islanders have three games over four days, including tonight\u2019s game in Columbus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy no means am I happy about it,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/StapeNewsday\/status\/916357970182754311\">Ho-Sang told Newsday<\/a>. \u201cWhat\u2019s allowing me to deal with this is I trust Dougie a lot. He\u2019s my coach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In Net<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thomas Greiss returns to the net to kick off the 2017-18 season.
