Things started off well with Schenn scoring a goal and creating several offensive chances, but then, out of the blue, Schenn grabbed a puck out of the air while on the penalty kill and chucked it down the ice.<\/p>\n<p>In case you missed it, here&#8217;s the hilarious GIF with a pretty appropriate caption.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">GO FETCH <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eNYSGY2Wkn\">pic.twitter.com\/eNYSGY2Wkn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Pete Blackburn (@PeteBlackburn) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PeteBlackburn\/status\/915770286896816130?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 5, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>What was Schenn thinking?<\/p>\n<p>Via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/sports\/hockey\/professional\/morning-skate\/schenn-on-his-puck-toss-a-little-tom-brady-in\/article_72fae948-c8b6-57d2-93a7-aab820f54a3b.html\">STLToday<\/a>, Schenn compared himself to Tom Brady in the pocket and admitted that he wasn&#8217;t really thinking when he tossed the puck.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;What the heck was that? A little Tom Brady in the pocket there.\u00a0<\/em><em>As soon as I threw it, I knew it was a penalty. I went right to the box. No argument. I looked at the bench and I think they were all just shaking their heads. Brain cramp on Game 1, and gotta get rid of those.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Schenn&#8217;s throw was one of the strangest things I&#8217;ve ever seen in a hockey game.<\/p>\n<p>Throwing a puck has never been a legal play in hockey, regardless of what level of hockey you&#8217;re playing in, which is what made his decision so puzzling and hilarious. Schenn even had a moment or two to collect his thoughts between grabbing the puck and chucking it, adding to the confusion of his decision.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, the Blues found a goal in overtime and Schenn&#8217;s blooper turned into one fans could enjoy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brayden Schenn nearly ruined his debut with the St. Louis Blues.
