The list of Patriots player that will not attend the White House keeps on growing as six players have said they will not attend the trip.\u00a0Tight end Martellus Bennett, safety Devin McCourty, linebacker Dont\u2019a\u00a0Hightower, running back LeGarrette Blount, defensive end Chris Long and defensive tackle Alan Branch have all publicly\u00a0said they will not be attending the celebration.<\/p>\n
But this does not matter to Tom Brady as he spoke with “PFT Live” on Tuesday afternoon, where he talked about players skipping the trip and why he missed the trip two years ago.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody has their own choice,\u201d Brady said. \u201cThere\u2019s certain years, like a couple years ago, I wanted to go, and then didn\u2019t get the opportunity based on the scheduling. We didn\u2019t get told until 10 days before we were going and at that point I had something that I had been planning for months.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cPutting politics aside it never really was a political thing \u2013 at least it never was for me,\u201d he added. \u201cIt was just always something that was a privilege to be able to do because it really meant you won a championship and you got to experience something cool with your team and your teammates.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone has their own choice,\u201d Brady said. \u201cIt\u2019s an offseason and these days are valuable for everybody. You only get so much time with your family and friends. If people don\u2019t wanna go, they don\u2019t wanna go, and that\u2019s their choice.\u201d<\/p>\n
