top free agent acquisition scored 16 points on four of five shooting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Both Brooks and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/f\/fredeji01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.cowbellkingdom.com\" target=\"_blank\">Jimmer Fredette<\/a><\/strong> played well for the Kings at the expense of Thomas&#8217; playing time. \u00a0Thomas started the game, but played just 16 total minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Evans wasn&#8217;t shy about shooting his jumper this evening. \u00a0The Kings swingman attempted five of his 10 shots from outside the painted area. \u00a0He didn&#8217;t shoot particularly well from the field (40 percent), but it was good to see Evans hoisting in situations where he&#8217;d normally force a drive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/n\/ndiayha01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.cowbellkingdom.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Hamady Ndiaye<\/strong><\/a> got a chance to showcase himself in meaningful minutes. \u00a0With six ticks remaining and the Kings holding a narrow 83-81 lead, Ndiaye checked in and played five minutes. \u00a0He showed some hustle when he chased and blocked a layup attempt by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/artesro01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.cowbellkingdom.com\" target=\"_blank\">Metta World Peace<\/a><\/strong>, only to have it called goaltending.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The Kings took advantage of some careless errors by the Lakers on the offensive end. \u00a0Los Angeles turned the ball over 22 times, while the Kings surrendered just 13 possessions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stat of Night:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0The Kings found their stroke from the free throw line. \u00a0Sacramento was a perfect 21 of 21 from the charity stripe this evening. \u00a0In a game that was decided by just seven points, free throws made the difference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a title=\"Preseason Game 5 Preview: Sacramento Kings at Los Angeles Lakers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cowbellkingdom.com\/2012\/10\/21\/nba-preseason-game-5-preview-sacramento-kings-a-los-angeles-lakers\/\" target=\"_blank\">Three answers to three questions pondered<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>1. Will Dwight Howard don a Lakers jersey for the first time ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Laker fans and the rest of the world got their first glimpse of Howard in his new digs and the three-time Defensive Player of the Year was impressive. \u00a0Howard scored 11 of his 19 points in the first half and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds in the process. \u00a0He responded well to contact and is still figuring out how to play with his new teammates. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nba\/blog\/eye-on-basketball\/20636025\/video-dwight-howard-scores-his-first-points-as-laker-off-gasol-alleyoop\" target=\"_blank\">However if his first basket as a Laker is any indication<\/a>, the six-time All-Star will have no trouble fitting in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Will Keith Smart begin to settle on a rotation?<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Smart seems settled on his bigs rotation. \u00a0And it seems like <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/t\/thornma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.cowbellkingdom.com\" target=\"_blank\">Marcus Thornton<\/a><\/strong>, who played his third preseason game as a reserve, is being groomed for a sixth man role. \u00a0But as far as small forward and point guard are concerned, the dust is hardly settled. \u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/o\/outlatr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.cowbellkingdom.com\" target=\"_blank\">Travis Outlaw<\/a><\/strong> and Aaron Brooks got the call in the first half of tonight&#8217;s game, while Jimmer Fredette and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/garcifr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.cowbellkingdom.com\" target=\"_blank\">Francisco Garcia<\/a><\/strong> earned time after intermission. \u00a0Both Brooks and Fredette played well Sunday night and it&#8217;s not going to be easy for Smart to determine who plays between them and Thomas. \u00a0That is, however, a good problem to have.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Can\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/couside01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.cowbellkingdom.com\" target=\"_blank\">DeMarcus Cousins<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0make Dwight Howard wish he had taken a few more days off?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Foul trouble reared its ugly head for Cousins early in Howard&#8217;s Laker debut. \u00a0Cousins picked up four of his five personals in the first half. \u00a0But the Kings center bounced back and had a solid showing against the Lakers after halftime. \u00a0Cousins adjusted to playing against the Lakers frontline and scored 12 of his 16 points following intermission. \u00a0He disrupted the Lakers&#8217; passing lanes and recorded team-high four steals in the win.
