Ben McLemore’s dunk contest performance

McLemore may be the least known name in this year’s contest, but that doesn’t make him any less talented than the rest of the field. The 21-year-old rookie has freakish athleticism and may turn some heads with what he has in store. He also has the benefit of guidance on his side. Kings assistant coach Dee Brown, who won the the dunk contest more than 20 years ago, has spent some time helping the rookie prepare for tonight. Regardless of the outcome, this will be an experience the first-year guard embraces in full.

2. Damian Lillard: you tired yet?

Lillard is the first player ever to participate in five events at All-Star Weekend. Last night, he played 30 minutes in the Rising Stars challenge and tonight, he’ll participate in three of All-Star Saturday Night’s events. In addition to all competitions, he’s likely had a number of appearances to make this weekend. Lillard is one the most well-conditioned players in the world, but we’ll see tonight if the last 24 hours have taken a toll on the sophomore guard.

3. Family affair

The shooting stars competition tips off tonight’s All-Star Saturday festivities. Unlike the dunk contest, it’s definitely not the event everyone comes to watch, but the field of participants includes two father/son combinations. Stephen Curry and Dell Curry are teaming together on one Western Conference squad while Tim Hardaway Jr. and Tim Hardaway Sr. make up another team in the east.

Join Cowbell Kingdom for a live recap show of tonight’s festivities in New Orleans.

[610259261
34017575,37918469,35890,8145251,2699166,733332,43432681,2515210,76563,1369920,16273241

What to watch
