David Stockton is on his way back to Sacramento.<\/p>\n
Cowbell Kingdom\u00a0<\/em>has confirmed through a league source that the former Reno Bighorn’s guard will sign a multi-year contract with the Kings once Sim Bhullar’s 10-day contract ends Saturday at midnight.<\/p>\n Stockton, 23, is the son of NBA legend John Stockton. \u00a0He signed a 10-day contract earlier in the year with Sacramento, making a lone appearance against the Los Angeles Clippers on February 21. \u00a0In seven minutes of action, Stockton scored one point, handed out an assist and grabbed two rebounds in the Kings 126-99 loss.<\/p>\n After a quiet four-year career at Gonzaga University, Stockton went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft. \u00a0He was acquired via trade by the Bighorns on D-League draft day and quickly found a home in David Arseneault Jr.’s Grinnell offense.<\/p>\n In 43 games in Reno, including 38 starts, the 5-foot-11 point guard averaged 20.1 points, 9.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 steals in 30.5 minutes a night. \u00a0Stockton shot an impressive 46.1 percent from the field and 39.8 percent from behind the arc with the Bighorns and made his name as one of the D-league’s best passers.<\/p>\n Stockton will join the Kings for the final three regular season games. \u00a0His contract will take him through the summer, but according to a source, it is\u00a0not guaranteed for next season.<\/p>\n The addition of Stockton marks the end of the Sim Bhullar era in Sacramento, at least for this season. \u00a0The 7-foot-5 Canadian center of Indian descent appeared in three games with the Kings, finishing with two points, an assist, one rebound and one block\u00a0in three total minutes of action.<\/p>\n
