Today, Boston Bruins forward David Backes will have a hearing with the NHL’s department of Player Safety. Let’s review.<\/p>\n

Thursday night, with 2:03 left in regulation, Backes caught New Jersey Devils forward New Jersey Devils forward Blake Coleman with a shoulder to the head. For his efforts, Backes was assessed a two-minute minor penalty for an illegal check to the head. When it’s all said and done, the move could end up being very costly for Backes. If Backes is suspended for more than a game, he will end up getting missing the Winter Classic.<\/p>\n
