WWE star Aiden English is best known for his time on Smackdown Live<\/em>\u00a0as Rusev’s sidekick and “Rusev Day” teammate, and perhaps no one has been able to match English’s mic skills when it comes to literally singing the praises of his tag team partner.<\/p>\n

Following the official split of Rusev Day on the Blue Brand, Aiden English has had a limited role on Tuesday nights, as Rusev has gone on to excel in singles competition and is the current United States Champion.<\/p>\n

WWE.com\u00a0<\/em>announced this week that Aiden English will be joining the\u00a0205 Live\u00a0<\/em>commentary team from now through\u00a0WrestleMania<\/em>\u00a0season,\u00a0and below is the company’s official announcement.<\/p>\n

Beginning tonight on WWE 205 Live<\/a>, SmackDown Superstar Aiden English<\/a> joins Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness as a guest commentator through WrestleMania season. English will still compete on SmackDown LIVE<\/a>, but he\u2019s seizing the opportunity to show off his abilities at the announce table.<\/p>\n

WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick<\/a> explained his decision behind the addition of The Drama King.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe McMahons have been shaking things up on Raw and SmackDown LIVE, so I\u2019m going to follow suit,\u201d Maverick said. \u201cAiden English is an active Superstar and is very opinionated, and I believe those opinions and perspective will add to the current commentary team, only adding to the entertainment value of The Most Exciting Hour of Television.\u201d
\nSenior Director of On-Air Talent and Raw commentator Michael Cole<\/a> also praised the move.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to do something special for WrestleMania<\/a> season, and Royal Rumble<\/a> week kicks off the Road to WrestleMania,\u201d said Cole. \u201cWe\u2019ve been working with Aiden at the WWE Performance Center to see if he has the chops, and it turns out he\u2019s pretty good.\u201d<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen how WWE intends to utilize English following\u00a0WrestleMania<\/em>, and if he will return to\u00a0Smackdown\u00a0<\/em>or potentially move to\u00a0Raw.<\/em><\/p>\n[lawrence-related id=871117]\n
