McNabb was traded to the Washington Redskins.
Mike Shanahan has quickly found himself a QB. The Eagles were rumored to be shopping him and pulled the trigger. With Kolb and Vick, they feel comfortable enough. Shanahan and the Skins moved this week for McNabb because Bradford’s Pro Day was so outstanding that it made it a lock that the Rams would take him at #1 and that he would not be available for the Skins at #4.
Was there something about McNabb and the Eagles that was always less than perfect? We have watched this franchise up close for McNabb’s entire tenure and you could argue either side. >Great player who kept them competitive. >Player with the fatal flaw who seemed to disappear when it mattered most.
We’ll still face McNabb 2 times a year. But I believe Dallas and the Giants come out on the losing end. The deal is a net gain for both the Eagles and the Skins because (a) Shanahan gets more dangerous with a veteran QB and (b) the Eagles still have 2 QBs and 2 more draft picks. It clearly would have been better to see McNabb go out of the NFC East, but it is what it is.
Paolantonio explains why the Eagles “got a steal” in getting a 2 this year and a conditional 3rd or 4th rounder next year.
Separately, CB ratings have been posted on the ‘Draft Project’ right side.
