When it rains it pours. And it is raining injured bodies on the Giants. Marvin Austin, the NY Giants’ 2nd round draft pick, has torn his pectoral muscle and will be placed on season-ending IR.
Amukamara – foot, out till ~late September
Witherspoon- knee, out for season
Austin- pectoral muscle, out for season
TThomas- ACL, out for season
Umenyiora- knee, out 3-6 weeks
Johnson- Achilles, out for season
Barden- ankle, PUP list
Koets- patella, PUP list
According John Clayton of ESPN, not counting Thomas (or de facto Witherspoon and Austin, who were not known until after the noon Tuesday tweet) the Giants were the #1 team in the NFL with 7 season-ending injuries. Does that mean we have 10? I am not counting some of the lesser players who were cut from the roster after getting hurt. Still, it is way too much. Tom, I thought the injuries were a cancer?
Allright, they are just injuries. Step back from the ledge and have some fun with the lighter side of football. Even your spouse will find this humorous. I actually got this link from.. my daughter!
