2012 Is Off To A Good Start

What the hell is that you might be asking yourself?  Well, it is both a birthday party invitation for you and your friends, as well as an NCAA violation for Ole Miss.  The NCAA frowns upon the use of a player’s name, likeness, and/or all major forms of identification for the purposes of promoting things, particularly things at which admission will be charged.

If you recall, and I vaguely did, a similar incident happened in December at North Carolina (of course it did!) and the player in question was eventually cleared to play in their bowl game.  So, while certainly not a career or season-crippling violation, it serves as a wonderful reminder of the stupidity head coaches have to deal with on a daily basis, especially one who took over a team that stopped giving a damn about anything (practice, grades, going to class, etc.) in October.

And maybe I’m making too much out of a 19 or 20-year old screwing up in a fairly minor fashion, but after two years of seeing the same mistakes over and over and over again, I’m so sick of the dumbassery that consistently exists on EVERY LEVEL of this football program.  I hate being the old-man-get-off-my-lawn type, but holy shit we need to win a game of average significance so I’ll stop complaining and being angry about EVERYTHING.

Until that day, which probably won’t happen until 2013, I leave it to Percy Garris to explain the last two years of Ole Miss football:
