Week 6 JSAOAFQF Update

jevansneadleaderboard-2

Last week, I stupidly declared, like most of my declarations, that no SEC quarterback would be capable of making a run at Jevan Snead’s 17 interceptions in 12 games in 2009. OH HOW THINGS CHANGE, FRIENDS.

After throwing two picks against Texas A&M, the second of which was Snead performance art, Josh Dobbs now finds himself sitting at eight interceptions with six games to play. Should he at least maintain that pace, he’d finish the year with 16, which would be the highest regular season total since Snead’s 17, and with a little luck, could tie or pass Snead down the stretch.

Unfortunately for those of us hoping for a run at history, the competition on Tennessee’s schedule drops significantly after this weekend’s game against Alabama. The Vols close out the year with South Carolina (away), Tennessee Tech, Kentucky, Missouri, and Vanderbilt (away).

Those defenses check in at 27th, infinity, 65th, 52nd, and 46th, respectively, in S&P+. With those numbers, I don’t like our chances of witnessing a great feat of strength, but I will always NEVER LET GO OF YOU, HOPE.

Before we get to the big board, we extend the heartiest of welcomes to Sean White, who is now a member of this exclusive club.

(Here’s a refresher on what we’re doing.)

WEEK 6

Special shout-out to Austin Allen who made his move with three interceptions on Saturday night, as well as to Jacob Eason for throwing an interception despite only 17 pass attempts. Hey, speaking of which, poop!

WEEK 6 BOX SCORE POOP PASSING WINNER

With Eason’s QBR of 6.5, we’re currently riding one of the hottest streaks I can recall. That’s FOUR STRAIGHT WEEKS of a starting quarterback in the SEC East not hitting double digits in QBR or rising above 6.5 (SIX POINT FIVE) after 60 minutes of footballing.
