4. Detroit Pistons
This is where things get interesting. The top three teams in the NBA Draft worked out LaMelo Ball recently. The next three teams (Bulls, Cavaliers, Hawks) did not get involved with evaluating the young guard via workout, although the Bulls did interview him.
Perhaps, that indicates they believe Ball won’t fall outside of the top three, and those organizations likely don’t have any plans to move up for him either. The Detroit Pistons, who possess the seventh-overall pick, might have some tricks up their sleeve.
Last week, CBS Sports’ Jasmyn Wimbush reported the Pistons are open to moving up in the draft if they know they can snag Ball. Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress also reported that Detroit’s interest in Ball could be an “indication they feel they have the assets to trade up on draft night.”
