Bear Pascoe will start, sub, and sell hot dogs too

1) We are reticent to anoint any player with a grand total of 2 receptions in his career (and that is only 1 if you don’t count last preseason!).  But Bear Pascoe is getting a lot of work.  The healthy get roster spots.  The injured who are fighting for spots usually get cut.

Ed Valentine of Big Blue View did a nice story on Pascoe.   We have not been delivering a ticker on everyday’s injuries at Giants camp, but at TE there have been a plethora of them.  So many in fact that Pascoe was the only one left on the roster who was healthy.  They had to recruit a lineman to play backup TE just so that Pascoe would not be taking all the snaps.

Practice makes perfect.  According to Garafolo, with Chandler and Ballard out this coming Monday, Pascoe will be the only TE left to play the first preseason game.  Wow.

2) Injuries: CB Corey Webster (glute muscle), WRs Steve Smith (groin) and Sinorice Moss (groin), RG Chris Snee (knee), TEs Kevin Boss (hamstring/ankle), Travis Beckum (hamstring), Scott Chandler (hip flexor), Jake Ballard (hamstring), OL Kevin Boothe (pec/PUP), Terrell Thomas (leg), S Michael Johnson (back) and WR Tim Brown (groin/hamstring).

3) Cruz on specials.  Yesterday we noted that a surging Cruz could cost Moss his roster spot.  That will be much easier to see if Cruz can win a job on Special Teams.  Problem is he dropped two punts in practice just the other day.  Perhaps Cruz would be wise to visit Glenn’s post on Bill Parcells’ Punt Returning Camp.
