This week’s episode of WWE Raw was a newsworthy show as the company continues the road to the Royal Rumble PPV, kicking off the road to WrestleMania 35.
On this week’s show, Vince McMahon pulled Braun Strowman from the Universal Title match at the Rumble, and Finn Balor won a Fatal Four Way match to earn the right to challenge Brock Lesnar in Strowman’s place.
Also on this week’s Raw, a Triple Threat Intercontinental Title match saw Dean Ambrose defend his gold against Bobby Lashley and Ambrose’s former partner Seth Rollins. By the end of the bout, Lashley was able to pick up the win and earn the IC Title, which is his first taste of gold since returning to WWE back in 2018.

Bliss announced that three teams from Raw and three teams from Smackdown Live will step into the Elimination Chamber at the PPV, and the bout’s winning team will become the new Tag Team Champions. The participants in the match have yet to be named, but with Nikki Cross making her main roster debut on Raw this week, it will be interesting to see which talents enter the bout for the right to be named the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
WWE Tweeted a graphic earlier in the night teasing names such as Bayley, The Riott Squad, Alicia Fox, Carmella, Natalya, Mandy Rose and more as competitors in the historic bout. WWE Elimination Chamber takes place in February, and is the last WWE PPV stop before WrestleMania 35 in April. The Women’s Tag Team Title match is the first Chamber match to be announced for the big event.
