Giants In Bottom-Half Of The NFL In Miles-Traveled For 2015 NFL Season

The New York Giants will try to rejoin the playoff picture with a full season of Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. working together. Beckham Jr. won the 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year award despite missing the first four games of the season due to injury. He finished the season with 91 receptions, 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns, including some highlight-reel catches that had to be seen to be believed. In fact, his catch against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football was widely viewed as the catch of the year, if not the past several years.

Beckham Jr. is turning out to be worth the price of admission on his own. Giants’ fans outside of the New York area have eight road opportunities to catch the G-Men in person. Speaking of road games, CBSSports.com recently published an article citing the estimated travel miles for all 32 NFL teams, and the Giants placed 23rd with 12,448 estimated miles, while having zero road trips more than 2,000 miles.

In addition to travel options provided by Hipmunk.com, below are the three most expensive Giants road tickets on the secondary market according to TiqIQ.com.

12/14/2015 | Miami Dolphins vs. New York Giants | Sun Life Stadium | Average Price: $367 | Get-in Price: $111 | Monday Night Football

Assuming the 20-hour, 1,200-mile road trip is off the table, the most expensive Giants road game of the season will have to be attended through the air. There are worse options than getting out of New York in December to watch the Giants play. Round trip Miami flights through Hipmunk will cost around $200 and take about three hours, which is always worth it when being able to see your team on the road in a Monday Night Football contest.

11/1/2015 | New Orleans Saints vs. New York Giants | Mercedes-Benz Superdome | Average Price: $254.26 | Get-in Price: $83

Similar to Miami, New Orleans is around 1,300 miles away and would take a day of travel by car. New Orleans nonstop flights will take about three hours and cost less than $350 for a round trip. A little pricier than the trip to Miami, it’s always  quite the unique experience seeing your team square off against the high-powered Saints play in the famed Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The atmosphere should be electric, as it always is for football in New Orleans.

9/13/2015 | Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants | AT&T Stadium | Average Price: $245.83 | Get-in Price: $67

This game is the third-most expensive road game for the Giants, but will mean the most. Division rivalry games between the Giants and Cowboys are always appointment television. Nonstop flights to Dallas from New York will last about four hours and cost just over $200 for a round trip trek. Considering the history between these two heated rivals, this road game just might feature the best value of the three.
