Report: Giants to sign Damon Harrison

Defensive lineman Damon Harrison is changing uniforms but not cities. After four seasons with the New York Jets, the man they call “Snacks” has agreed in principle to a deal with the New York Giants.

Harrison, who racked up a career-high 72 tackles last season, was named Pro Football Focus‘ best run defender in 2015. The 350-pound behemoth played nose tackle on a talented defensive line that included Pro Bowlers Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson. The Jets had the second-best run defense in the NFL a year ago, holding opponents to less than 84 yards rushing per game.

Harrison will join a Giants defensive unit that allowed the ninth-most rushing yards last season and 15 scores on the ground. Harrison will play alongside two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Pierre Paul, who is returning to the Giants on a one-year deal.
