To be filed under- Winning Ugly. But we will take it because when you have so many injuries and enough mistakes, you can even let teams like SF beat you. And the Giants nearly let that happen. It was a thrilling comeback. Someone please tell me it is okay to open my eyes again.
When OBJ (hamstring), Randle (hamstring) and Cruz (calf) are all out at the same time, put your helmets on because either the Giants are putting in Nikita Whitlock as a wideout or they are about to call you off the couch to play. White Harris and Davis were running routes at the same time. Not the way the Giants drew it up. Vereen rescued the Gmen. Then OBJ’s defender got called for PI. And then Donnell made an amazing TD catch. In the middle of all of that, the 49ers almost made an INT that was overturned. Praise the Lord. Scary. Game over if that ball is caught.
Collins and Beason also left the game. The injuries are mounting again. Too many soft tissue losses. Not enough proper stretching and conditioning. 7 years and counting.
This was supposed to be a game the Giants clocked their timecard on, collected the W and got the he** out of there. Between the injuries and failed red zone opportunities, the Giants let the 49ers stick around. No style points for this one, other than some gritty play at the end. You guys can comment on some of the ups, downs, salient points. Me? I am going to bed to make sure that that wasn’t a nightmare and that the Giants actually did win.
