WWE Raw has been without one of its top stars since 2018, with Kevin Owens deciding to undergo double knee surgery following the WWE Super Show-Down PPV in order to repair lingering injuries in both of his knees.
Owens last appeared on the episode of Raw following Super Show-Down, and seemed to turn face after a double turn occurred, which established Bobby Lashley as a heel after pummeling Owens, offering the former Universal Champion a storyline reason to take time off from WWE TV in order to undergo surgery.
Following surgery, initial timeslines put Kevin Owens on the shelf until February or March of this year, however, his status for WrestleMania 35 remains unknown. Sources have indicated Owens might not miss the big event taking place in April, as he could be cleared to return to action by then, however, his official TV return has yet to be announced and WWE has released no information regarding when he will be cleared to return to action.
One thing which appears certain is Owens’ physique, as the Raw star looks to have dropped a significant amount of weight ahead of his impending WWE TV return.

Owens’ weight loss appears so dramatic that it even had fans on social media joking KO might be returning to WWE to compete in the Cruiserweight division.

As of this writing, creative plans for Kevin Owens once he returns to WWE TV remain unknown, and it is not known whether or not WWE intends to have him return as a heel or a babyface.
Another WWE Superstar nearing a return to the ring is Kevin Owens’ former foe and tag team partner, Sami Zayn, who is also recovering from surgery after having both of his rotator cuffs operated on back in 2018. Zayn’s return to WWE TV has yet to be confirmed, but the hope remains that he can return to the ring in time for WrestleMania 35.
