After several weeks of being convinced we were down to a five-horse race, there were some dramatic charges from the middle and back of the pack that could give us the WORLDSTAR element to this competition we deserve. Luke Del Rio, fresh off his return from injury, tossed three interceptions in a game Florida still won 40-14 over Missouri, while the opposing starting quarterback, Drew Lock, threw two in just 18 pass attempts.
That means, as we enter the second half of the season, we have eight quarterbacks sitting at five interceptions or better. Given the overall lack of talent and the increase in schedule difficulty for most (minus SEC East teams obvs), things could jump up a notch or 25.
GIVE US THE CHAOS WE NEED FOR SUFFERING THROUGH THIS GARBAGE SEASON WHERE ALABAMA IS JUST GONNA RIP EVERYONE APART LIMB FROM LIMB.
(Here’s a refresher on what we’re doing.)
WEEK 7
Sadly, based on what you’re about to see, I think the Drew Lock era may be coming to a close, which means would could lose a valuable competitor.
WEEK 6 BOX SCORE POOP PASSING WINNER
First, and most importantly, MARVIN ZANDERS. I say again, MARVIN ZANDERS. One of the best fake real names I’ve ever heard.
Second, our guy, Drew Lock, checks in with a 0.8 QBR, which, according to the math, comes out to 0.2 points below 1.0. That, as the charts will tell you, is not the best. Though, to be fair, he did throw two touchdown passes to Florida.
Lock’s performance means we now stand at FIVE STRAIGHT WEEKS where a starting SEC East quarterback did not break 6.5 in the QBR. It also means we are on a white-hot streak of one straight week where a starting SEC quarterback did not break ONE in the QBR.
Forget Alabama’s stupid non-offensive touchdowns streak, THIS is the best streak going in college football.
