No matter its level of meanness, the facts do not lie and Jordan Jefferson was the lowest rated player invited to last week’s NFL combine. He was even behind a kicker from Purdue, which seems impossible, but then memories of LSU’s offense over the past four years flood your brain. One day, I hope we’ll be able to find out whether Jefferson was a bad quarterback because of his inability (for whatever reason) to improve his poor accuracy, decision-making, and awareness, or he was a bad quarterback because Les Miles and his offensive staff were just THAT bad at developing a competent quarterback out of a good-sized, athletically-gifted player.
However, it’s hard to feel that sorry for someone who was part of a senior class that went 41-12 in four years (24-3 in the last two), won an SEC Championship, played in a national championship game, and got to spend the majority of his days over the last four years in the very presence of Leslie Edwin Miles. Godspeed, competitor of Jarrett Lee.
