From the “This can only happen to the Mets” department: The team that has pitching issues, and it’s still a negative.
Now the Mets have another doubleheader on Saturday after the disastrous one on Thursday, and the Mets were rankled that the Braves wouldn’t give them a break and schedule the DH later in the season. The fact that the Braves would want to take advantage of the Mets bullpen issues surprises the Mets disturbs me greatly. They think that because MLB gives them $25 million bucks that its member clubs will be charitable as well? Especially ones in the division? Surely you can’t be so naive.
And now Chris Young is concerned about falling to injury on his Sunday start and exposing an already tired bullpen (in April … I can’t stress that enough), so he will most likely be pushed back again. Dillon Gee is probably going to get called up on April 17th because of a starting staff that can’t go six and a 13-man bullpen that’s tired and ghastly. Aah this sets up the Mets just great for May and beyond.
Any chance somebody on the pitching staff or in the front office in Flushing can sack up?
