Hakstol on His First NHL Win

Last night, former University of North Dakota head coach Dave Hakstol got his first win as an NHL coach. The Flyers beat the Panthers 1-0 on home ice. With the win, the Flyers are now 1-1-1.

I think you will find his reaction to his first win interesting.

This is the situation in which rookie coach Dave Hakstol found himself as the first college coach to jump straight to the NHL in 33 years. This was his first home game, too; against those same Florida Panthers.

With all the emotion of an FBI director, Hakstol emoted thus:

“Winning’s what we’re here for.” (Philly.com)

His reaction after the win, classic Hakstol. You also have to love the analogy by the Philadelphia newspaper, too. Emotions of an FBI director. I’ll be following this story during the year.
