The NCHC = Meat Grinder

pearljamyellowledbetterlittlehorsesadam

While it sounds cliché the National Collegiate Hockey Conference is a meat grinder. It’s very hard to win games in the NCHC. Over the past 2 2/3 seasons, series sweeps are hard to come by. Included in the parentheses is the number of conference sweeps this season.

The second parentheses is the number of times each team has been swept in conference play this season. SCSU is the only team in the NCHC to not be swept by an conference opponent.

I was interested in looking at the eight teams’ cumulative all-time conference record through 66 games.

North Dakota (5) (1) 44-19-3 (.689)
St. Cloud State (4) (0) 39-22-5 (.628)
Denver (4) (2) 34-26-6 (.560)
Nebraska-Omaha (2) (3) 33-26-7 (.553)
Minnesota-Duluth (3) (3) 30-28-8 (.522)
Miami (2) (3) 23-36-4 (.386)
Western Michigan (2) (6) 21-37-8 (.378)
Colorado College (1) (5) 12-45-9 (.250)
