Well It happened, the news fans of the Edmonton Oilers have been dreading all off season. We’ve lost another center to injury.Sam Gagner, who took a high stick from Zack Kassian of the Vancouver Canucks last night is out indefinetely with a broken jaw.
#Oilers forward Sam Gagner will be out indefinitely with a broken jaw suffered last night against Vancouver.

So now that means that not only are we going to start the season without the number 1 center, our number 2 is done now too. Maybe Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is back very soon, and Hall stays at center. That might work for a little while but none the less it exposes the extreme lack of depth the Oilers have at center. Anton Lander, Will Acton, and Mark Arcobello just got a huge chance to make this team, you have to think that 2 of those 3 will now start the year in Edmonton. My bet is that Boyd Gordon will slide up and play with Perron and Yakupov, Acton will center the third and Lander the 4th, Arcobello being the odd man out.
Man, it’s paining me to write this write now. But I suppose it could be worse, right?
On a side note Sidney Crosby missed 12 regular season games and 1 playoff game last year after he got hit in the face with a puck and broke his jaw. If 13 games is the magic number for Samwise we’ll see him back October 29th at home against the Maple Leafs.
